Every dog on the leader board gets free entries to the 2010 Purina Farms Autumn Sieger. The 2010 Grand Sieger Championships will be held on Saturday evening of the 2010 Purina Farms Autumn Sieger. 2010 Grand Sieger Championships:
In February 2009 IABCA introduced The Grand Sieger Competition. Each weekend a 'Best of the Best' is chosen from all Best in Show winners in our various classes (BIS Bred-by-Exhibitor Puppy, BIS Rare Breed Adult, etc.). Each Grand Sieger winner between February 2009 in Enumclaw, WA and November 13, 2010 in Hutchinson, MN are eligible to compete in the Inaugural Grand Sieger Best in Shows Heads-up Competition. Dogs will compete head to head in a bracket format and will be seeded based on total points earned in Grand Sieger competitions. If there is an uneven number of dogs to fill the brackets the higher seeds will get a bye in the first round of competition.
The 2010 Grand Sieger Competition will take place at our 2010 Purina Farms Autumn Sieger. The 2010 Purina Farms Autumn Sieger is a regular All Breed show for us, with the 2010 Grand Sieger Competition taking place after Saturday’s Best In Shows (Saturday evening). Each dog that has one at least one Grand Sieger will be entered into the 2010 Purina Farms Autumn Sieger automatically for free. The Grand Sieger Competition will be held every 2 years.
The Grand Sieger competition procedure will be as follows: There will be three or five judges, they will first go over all the dogs in groups of eight. After all dogs have had hands on physical examination, they will return by twos according to their bracket placements and be designated either A or B. The judges will watch them move again around the ring, may choose to have them also go up and back, and may also choose to go over them again but are not required to do either. After finishing this second judging, each judge will raise their Paddle with either the A or the B towards the spectators. The dog with the most votes moves on to the next bracket (the other dog is out of the competition). This will be repeated for each pair until we have one winning dog. That dog will be our 2010 Grand Sieger Champion.
